Senior Physical Substation Engineer

Description

The Staff Electrical Engineer will be responsible for completing physical design tasks on various substation projects. They will collaborate with the project team throughout the design and construction phases, adjusting physical layouts and plans to meet budget requirements, design criteria, and client specifications. Candidates with experience in physical substation design are preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare and develop general arrangement drawings, sectional views, electrical details, yard layouts, and bills of materials for new substation installations or modifications to existing facilities.

Create and update technical specifications for major equipment, including power transformers, circuit breakers, control enclosures, and other high-voltage components.

Conduct calculations related to lightning protection, grounding systems, and lighting design.

Collaborate with and provide technical support to protection & control, civil, structural, and transmission line engineers.

Incorporate field mark-ups into project as-built drawings accurately.

Support client communications and review manufacturer drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Investigate project challenges, analyze issues, and recommend effective solutions.

Coordinate project activities and maintain communication with project managers and other stakeholders as needed.

Experience with SEED software or WinIGS software

Experience mentoring junior engineers

This is a Permanent position based out of Dunwoody, GA.

The pay range for this position is $155000.00 - $230000.00/hr.
