Senior Performance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Senior Performance Engineer to join a leading company in the metro Atlanta area. This position is responsible for the technical ownership of engine performance and will serve as the subject matter expert for all engine models within the client portfolio. The role combines deep technical expertise with cross-functional collaboration to ensure optimal engine performance, supporting both internal engineering initiatives and external business development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject matter expert on engine performance modeling and analysis.
• Provide technical ownership of engine performance for all engine models within the portfolio.
• Build models using NPSS, MATLAB, Python, and C/C .
• Analyze test data and conduct flight testing for performance validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support engineering and business development initiatives.
• Validate engine performance using analytical tools and empirical data.

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline.
• 7 years of industry experience in gas turbines, including 5 years in performance modeling and programming.
• Proficiency in NPSS (preferred), GasTurb, or similar modeling tools.
• Strong programming skills in MATLAB, Python, and C/C .
• Knowledge of drafting best practices and GD&T standards.
• Deep understanding of turbomachinery physics, performance, and operation.

• Experience with defense industry standards and MIL-STD compliance.
• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Knowledge of digital engineering tools such as Digital Twin Technology, AI, IoT, and predictive analytics.

The position is 100% onsite, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. There is no overtime compensation. The role involves some travel, including international travel, requiring a passport. The team consists of four engineers, including a senior propulsion engineer and two junior propulsion engineers. Collaboration with suppliers and travel to customer sites is expected, accounting for about 15% of the time.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $160000.00/hr.
