Job Description
This onsite Scientist role focuses on advancing research in molecular and cellular biology, with a strong emphasis on cell biology rather than chemistry. The position operates within standard business hours, five days per week, and involves designing, executing, and interpreting experiments related to cellular protein degradation pathways and small molecule or related modalities. The Scientist will contribute to impactful research programs by applying advanced techniques, collaborating closely with colleagues, and clearly communicating scientific findings.
Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and execute independent research projects in molecular and cellular biology with a primary focus on cell biology.
- Develop, optimize, and perform quantitative cell-based assays to support ongoing research programs.
- Conduct experiments using molecular and cellular techniques, including western blotting, cell line engineering, plate-based assays, flow cytometry, and confocal microscopy.
- Investigate and characterize cellular protein degradation pathways, including the ubiquitin–proteasome system and endo-lysosome pathway.
- Analyze, interpret, and document experimental data in a clear, organized, and reproducible manner.
- Prepare scientific reports, presentations, and publications to communicate research findings to internal teams and the broader scientific community.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional scientists to advance projects, troubleshoot experimental challenges, and refine research strategies.
- Maintain laboratory records, follow established protocols, and ensure that experiments meet high scientific and quality standards.
- Stay current with relevant scientific literature and apply new concepts and techniques to ongoing research.
Essential Skills
- PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, cancer biology, pharmacology, or a closely related discipline.
- Broad knowledge of molecular and cellular biology with demonstrated independent research achievements, evidenced by scientific publications.
- Strong cell biology background, with clear emphasis on cellular systems rather than chemistry.
- Understanding of cellular protein degradation pathways, including the ubiquitin–proteasome system and the endo-lysosome pathway.
- Hands-on research experience with western blotting and related molecular biology techniques.
- Proficiency in quantitative cell-based assay development and execution.
- Experience with cell line engineering for experimental and assay development purposes.
- Practical experience performing plate-based assays in a laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in flow cytometry for cellular analysis.
- Experience using confocal microscopy for imaging and characterizing cells and subcellular structures.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple experiments and priorities effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and present scientific data clearly.

Work Environment
This role is fully onsite, working five days per week during standard business hours. The Scientist will work in a laboratory environment equipped for molecular and cellular biology research, including instrumentation for western blotting, cell-based assays, flow cytometry, and confocal microscopy. The position involves hands-on bench work, close collaboration with other scientists, and regular communication of results in a professional research setting.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.00 - $43.00/hr.
