Job Description
The Scanning Technician will spend their day conducting 3D scanning of bolt-on accessories, such as fire extinguishers and toolboxes, for trucks. Using a turntable and 3D scanning gun, they will create a 3D image of these parts, save the file, and email it for further development into a usable 3D model. This model will be used in assembly manuals and customer renderings. Once proficient, the technician is expected to complete roughly 15-20 parts per day.
Responsibilities
The position is based on a typical manufacturing floor where the majority of time will be spent. The environment is professional with a culture that includes many engineers from farm backgrounds. The technician will work independently with minimal supervision, and is expected to be punctual and responsible. The dress code is jeans and a polo, and the role is on the 3rd shift from 9:15 PM to 5:45 AM.

Responsibilities
- Conduct 3D scanning of parts and accessories for trucks.
- Use a turntable and 3D scanning gun to create images.
- Place parts on turntable, apply stickers, and perform scans.
- Save and email scanned files for further processing.
- Support final 3D modeling if backlog is cleared and skillset permits.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Ability to learn new software quickly.
- Mechanical engineering skills with an understanding of 3D scanning and modeling.
- Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Engineering Technology Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with AutoCAD and MS Office, especially Outlook.
- Entry-level position suitable for recent graduates.
