Sanitation Lead

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sanitation Lead to manage and guide our sanitation crew within the food manufacturing industry. This role requires a proactive individual who can ensure adherence to safety, quality, and sanitation standards while effectively communicating with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Enforce company Lock Out Tag Out and food safety procedures across the sanitation team
• Train crew members on proper handling and identification of approved sanitation chemicals
• Ensure compliance with GMPs, regulatory standards, and company directives for product quality, sanitation, food safety, employee safety, and environmental practices
• Assign and oversee daily workload for sanitation technicians
• Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Quality teams to complete timely sanitation of equipment and areas
• Conduct sanitation audits and implement corrective actions when needed
• Partner with the Quality team to develop and improve sanitation procedures, techniques, and testing plans
• Support departmental training on SOPs, GMPs, and documentation requirements
• Maintain and service sanitation equipment, including preventative maintenance and recordkeeping
• Monitor crew performance to ensure adherence to SOPs and sanitation standards
• Perform routine sanitation tasks such as area inspections, cleaning, sanitizing, and auditing
• Prepare work orders, tool checklists, and assist with Master Sanitation Schedule documentation
• Report issues and concerns promptly to appropriate personnel

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a sanitation lead, with a preference for 2-3 years.
• Leadership experience and ability to direct others.
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lemont, IL.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Lemont,IL.
