Job Title: Sanitation Lead
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sanitation Lead to manage and guide our sanitation crew within the food manufacturing industry. This role requires a proactive individual who can ensure adherence to safety, quality, and sanitation standards while effectively communicating with multiple departments.
Responsibilities
- Enforce company Lock Out Tag Out and food safety procedures across the sanitation team
- Train crew members on proper handling and identification of approved sanitation chemicals
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, regulatory standards, and company directives for product quality, sanitation, food safety, employee safety, and environmental practices
- Assign and oversee daily workload for sanitation technicians
- Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Quality teams to complete timely sanitation of equipment and areas
- Conduct sanitation audits and implement corrective actions when needed
- Partner with the Quality team to develop and improve sanitation procedures, techniques, and testing plans
- Support departmental training on SOPs, GMPs, and documentation requirements
- Maintain and service sanitation equipment, including preventative maintenance and recordkeeping
- Monitor crew performance to ensure adherence to SOPs and sanitation standards
- Perform routine sanitation tasks such as area inspections, cleaning, sanitizing, and auditing
- Prepare work orders, tool checklists, and assist with Master Sanitation Schedule documentation
- Report issues and concerns promptly to appropriate personnel
- Essential Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a sanitation lead, with a preference for 2-3 years.
- Experience in food manufacturing or hospital setting.
- Experience with chemicals.
- Leadership experience and ability to direct others.
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
Work Environment
Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The role involves leading a team of 7 sanitation technicians in a dynamic food manufacturing environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Romeoville, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
