Sales Engineer- Naperville, IL
Responsibilities
- Select, configure, and price highly technical/engineered equipment.
- Respond to day-to-day business inquiries and technical clarifications from representatives and customers.
- Prepare formal quotations in line with pricing strategies, ensuring optimal engineered solutions.
- Provide remote field support as a technical center of excellence for aftermarket pump and equipment product lines.
- Recommend product improvements to engineering teams to meet market needs.
- Work cross-functionally between projects, pumps, and parts.
- Manage multiple projects through quotation and technical clarification cycles.
- Domestic travel 25% of the time, about once a quarter.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- 0-3 years' experience in technical industrial sales/engineering with pumps, rotating equipment, or the manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn pumps, motors, mechanical seals, controls, and related accessories.
- Technical understanding of pump operation, performance, and application.
- Experience in interpreting specifications into a commercial offering.
- Knowledge of contract review and terms & conditions, with negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other departments.
- Capability to multi-task and make accurate decisions based on available information.
- Proficiency in reading drawings and understanding technical specifications.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $38.46/hr.
