Job Description

As a Safety Professional, you will coordinate and administer Site Safety Programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company safety and occupational health standards and procedures. You will provide safety resource support for assigned operating units, including training and permitting, ensuring all employees return 'Home Healthy – Home Safe' each shift. This role requires travel, and a company vehicle or allowance will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Investigate any incident or near miss and report findings to the general contractor.
• Attend safety meetings as required by the general contractor.
• Conduct regular safety meetings with tradespersons to instruct them on project safety practices and requirements.
• Conduct written daily safety inspections of work activities and ensure compliance with safe work practices.
• Take direction from the general contractor related to timely abatement and control of hazards.
• Lead or participate in incident investigations and emergency response.
• Conduct site inspections and track all corrective actions to closure.
• Perform job safety analysis.
• Maintain jobsite-specific safety documentation as deemed appropriate by the Health & Safety Manager.
• Coach and teach safety practices across the region.
• Conduct safety training sessions.

Essential Skills

• OSHA 30-hour Construction Outreach Training or greater.
• Five years of construction experience, with at least one year in on-site safety responsibilities.
• Specialized training relevant to the scope of work.
• Working knowledge of construction safety regulations and hazard control methods.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct safety training.

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite opportunity with a focus on completing projects on time. The position offers the potential for significant overtime, as projects are fast-paced and require dedication. The work schedule includes 60-hour weeks, with safety managers working staggered shifts to ensure coverage. Initial involvement will include preparing and setting up for project commencement, slated to begin in Q1 of 2026.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfax, IA.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr.
