Safety Coordinator

The Safety Coordinator will focus on creating and enforcing a culture of health and safety for employees, subcontractors, and the general public on project sites. This role requires a strong, safety-oriented individual who will collaborate with the Operations team to ensure a work environment that prioritizes accident prevention and risk mitigation. The Safety Coordinator will also provide training and direction to on-site staff on safety items and plans.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety efforts of subcontractors and employees.
• Discuss safety with on-site Subcontractors Supervisory Personnel.
• Coordinate with Project Supervision to ensure the use of necessary personal protective equipment and safety materials.
• Record and forward copies of all safety-related meetings, programs, safety pre-plans, inspections, correspondence, directives, citations, etc., to the Safety Director for tracking.
• Coordinate responses and compliance with requirements of inspection reports from the insurance company.
• Conduct documented Project Safety and Health Inspections.
• Investigate all injuries and review all accident reports, coordinating corrective measures with employees or Subcontractor Personnel.
• Keep current all required safety documents and literature.
• Monitor protection of the public by minimizing construction hazards.
• Monitor maintenance of adequate first aid supplies.
• Maintain OSHA 300 log of injuries and illnesses.
• Implement safety policies, procedures, and programs.
• Work directly with the Safety Manager, project managers, and superintendents to ensure safety is built into every project.
• Coordinate compliance with Storm Water Pollution and Prevention Plans.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to manage/administer safety orientations, oversee substance abuse program, investigate/report on injuries/illnesses/near misses, and perform other various safety functions on-site.
• Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing safety efforts on large construction projects.
• Experience being a project manager on data center, mission critical, or hi-tech projects.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Multi-family construction experience preferred.
• Prior field experience preferred.
• Ability to work with all construction groups: management, owners, trades, and subcontractors.
• Experience with project management, construction management, RFI, design, project coordination, project engineering, compliance, health & safety, safety procedures, safety audit.
• Great communication skills to work in a team setting.
• Punctuality.

The work environment includes the Scottsdale office and Mesa project site. The role involves engaging with various construction groups and requires adherence to safety protocols and procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.

This is a hybrid position in Phoenix,AZ.
