Job Description

We are seeking a Roadway Engineer to join our Ohio Transportation Business Unit. The successful candidate will work with a dedicated team to complete complex projects for ODOT and LPA clients, including new roadway design, EER studies, interchanges, and roundabouts. Both remote and hybrid work options are available, with the requirement to reside in Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Design roadway projects for ODOT and Local Public Agency clients.
• Create and review project design calculations, quantity takeoffs, specifications, plans, and contract documents.
• Collaborate within the Transportation Team, assigning responsibilities.
• Manage project schedules and budgets efficiently.
• Apply ODOT design manual and engineering principles to highway design.
• Utilize OpenRoads and/or Civil 3D software according to client standards.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to subordinate groups.
• Attend client meetings and site visits, with occasional overnight travel up to 10% of the time.
  
  

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in OpenRoads and Civil 3D.
• Extensive experience in roadway design and transportation engineering.
• Experience with MicroStation ORD & Civil 3D.
• 5-10 years of experience in roadway/transportation design.
• Experience working on ODOT and LPA roadway projects.
  
  

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• EIT or PE license.
• Experience managing projects for ODOT or LPA clients.
• Ability to work independently and hit the ground running.
  
  

Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility to work 100% remotely or in a hybrid setup, depending on experience level. The Columbus location provides a shared workspace environment. The team is small, with about five people primarily working remotely or in a hybrid model.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
