Job Title: Circulating Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Circulating Nurse to join our dynamic surgical team. In this role, you will manage the overall environment of the surgical center without engaging in direct patient contact or working within the sterile field like a scrub nurse. Your responsibilities will include setting up and hooking up equipment in a sterile environment, as well as documentation and conducting positioning and safety checks before surgery. You will work across four specialties: ENT, podiatry, GI, and ophthalmology.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 2-day orientation for learning and meeting role requirements.
• Manage the surgical environment to ensure efficiency and safety.
• Set up and connect equipment in a sterile environment.
• Conduct documentation and perform positioning and safety checks prior to surgery.
• Operate without direct patient contact or involvement in sterile field activities.

Essential Skills

• Active CT RN License
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience in circulating is beneficial

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Surgical experience is a plus
• Flexibility to work either 5x8-hour shifts or 4x10-hour shifts with a rotating day off each week

The work environment is a state-of-the-art surgical center that operates with the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), ensuring top-notch healthcare services. The facility offers a caring, convenient, and cost-effective setting for both patients and staff, with advanced equipment and a dedicated team. The work hours are Monday through Friday, with a start time of 6:00 AM or 6:30 AM. There is no requirement to float between different departments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based in the Hartford County, Connecticut.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
