We are seeking a VDC Specialist/Coordinator to support a mechanical contractor focused on plumbing and HVAC projects. The specialist is responsible for creating, managing, and coordinating detailed 3D models for plumbing and HVAC systems to support design, fabrication, and installation processes. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration across project teams using advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools such as AutoCAD and Revit.
Responsibilities
The role is primarily office-based with 80% of the time spent in the office and 20% involving travel to sites in Buffalo to gather information from the project manager or view the drafted work. Occasionally, site visits are required to scan projects.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cheektowaga, NY.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/hr.

Job Description

Responsibilities
- Create and manage detailed 3D models for plumbing and HVAC systems.
- Generate shop drawings, spool sheets, and fabrication details from models for prefabrication and field installation.
- Participate in coordination meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Assist in implementing new technologies and processes related to VDC and BIM.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure models align with design intent and installation requirements.
- Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts between mechanical, electrical, and structural components.
- Piping knowledge
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field
- Experience with Revit MEP
- Familiarity with scanner imaging software
- Experience with scanner technology is a plus
