Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our Appeals department. In this role, you will work primarily with Medicare and Medicaid patients, focusing on denied Prior Authorizations. Your main responsibility will be to review case information, gather additional details if necessary, and forward cases to Pharmacists for final determinations. This role is crucial in helping our patients navigate their healthcare needs.
Responsibilities
- Review case information and reach out for additional data when needed.
- Send cases to Pharmacists for final determination on Prior Authorizations.
- Make 30-60 outbound calls per shift to Medicare/elderly members regarding denied medications.
- Manage conversations with patience and empathy, controlling the dialogue and redirecting as necessary.
Essential Skills
- Valid pharmacy technician license.
- Experience in appeals and managed care processes.
- Proficiency in handling claims and denials.
- Strong data entry skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills over the phone.
- Ability to handle challenging conversations with elderly patients.
Work Environment
The position involves making outbound calls, primarily to Medicare patients, regarding their denied medication requests. You will work in a fast-paced environment that requires empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
