Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for generating and validating official technical documents and ensuring compliance with both domestic and international regulatory requirements for flavors and ingredient systems. This position involves conducting risk assessments, reviewing product labels, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and staying updated on regulatory changes.
Responsibilities
- Generate and validate official technical documents for new and existing flavors and ingredient systems, including Product Data Sheets, Safety Data Sheets, and Nutritional Statements.
- Gather and analyze data to ensure compliance with domestic (FEMA GRAS, USDA) and international (Codex, EFFA, JECFA, etc.) regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential regulatory issues and develop mitigation strategies.
- Review and approve product labels and advertising materials to ensure compliance with labeling regulations and truth-in-advertising laws.
- Assist in achieving and maintaining certifications such as Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, Kosher, and Halal.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Sales, Quality, MIH, and Production) to ensure compliance throughout product development.
- Provide training to internal teams on regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
- Proactively conduct market research to understand regulatory changes and trends affecting the flavor and beverage industry.
- Stay up to date on regulatory changes and understand their implications for the business.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Regulatory affairs and regulatory submission expertise.
- Experience with SDS sheets, nutritional statements, and product label review.
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, food science, nutrition, or a related field.
- 1 years of experience in a regulatory position within the flavor industry.

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Addison, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
15 days PTO, 4 floating holidays
8-9 standard company holidays
Effective 2025: Blue Cross Blue Shield medical, dental, vision (may change in 2026)
