Radiologic Technologist
Job Description
Perform a wide variety of technical procedures across multiple modalities including X-ray, CT, and Dexa.
Responsibilities
- Prepare room and patient per order.
- Perform all procedures, including CR and DR x-ray procedures, and Bone Density.
- Assist Interventional Radiology procedures under C-ARM guidance.
- Properly set up equipment, position patients, and determine proper exposure factors to produce high-quality images.
- Observe each patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed such as medical history, symptoms, and explanation of procedures with associated documentation.
- Maintain/restock appropriate supplies in X-ray and C-ARM rooms and maintain a list of items to be ordered.
- Produce diagnostic, high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists.
- Operate all radiologic equipment safely and properly.
- Safely transfer patients to and from imaging tables using assistive devices as necessary.
- Maintain accurate patient record-keeping in EMR and properly identify images ensuring they are sent to the PACS system correctly.
- Communicate effectively with Radiologists.
- Complete and bill for studies accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Assist fellow technologists when not busy with X-ray/C-ARM specific duties.
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Essential Skills
- Experience in imaging, radiology, CT, C-ARM, MRI, DEXA, PACS, and RIS.
- Ability to operate standard imaging equipment including X-ray, C-ARM, and CT equipment.
- Proficiency with PC Computer PACS/RIS/EMR systems.
- Knowledge of applicable patient positioning and technique selections for modalities.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work flexible hours and additional hours as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- AAS - Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology or graduate of an approved ARRT Certification program in Radiologic Technology required.
- NYS licensure and ARRT certification required. Pending license to start is acceptable.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, pull, and twist for extended periods.
- Lifting objects as required.
- Prefer one year of experience but open to training entry-level candidates.
- Multi-modality experience in CT, MRI, and Mammo is preferred.
- Experience with PACS and RIS EMR systems is preferred.
Work Environment
The role does not require late nights, overnight hours, or on-call duties, with limited weekend work if any. This medium-sized facility provides opportunities to use the C-ARM for interventional procedures, breaking the monotony of other imaging techniques.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $68640.00/yr.
