Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Manager to serve as the Quality System Management representative, maintaining a comprehensive company-wide Quality Management System in alignment with ISO 9001 standards. You will have overall responsibility for internal auditing, bench tests, and other quality-related systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage a Quality Department within an ISO 9001, AS-9100 environment.
- Perform and supervise physical inspections, monitoring products from incoming materials to final inspection before shipping.
- Organize and control quality documents, including the Quality Manual, Standard Procedures, and Formal Work Instructions.
- Collaborate with the QMS management representative to organize data for quarterly executive board meetings, focusing on internal audits and quality discrepancies.
- Work with various departments to maintain and improve product quality and overall work product.
- Provide data and expertise on current quality levels and strategies for improvement.
Essential Skills
- Experience in Quality Control within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in quality systems and documentation, including spreadsheets, testing, FAI, and sample collection.
- Knowledge of lean and Six Sigma methods, with a preference for Black Belt certification.
- Excellent organizational, record-keeping, and communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with metal, electronics, and fiber optics is strongly preferred.
- Proficient in the use of lab equipment and dimensional tools such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and CMM machines.
- Strong understanding of process improvement using statistical techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret customer blueprints and specifications.
- Experience with ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 certifications is a plus.
- Proficient in Failure Mode Effects Analysis and Root Cause Analysis.
- 3-5 years of experience in a QA discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a job shop environment.
Work Environment
This role is based in an industrial metal/wire and cable shop setting in Florida, NY, operating on a first shift schedule (8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday). You will supervise a quality team of six members.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Florida, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27/hr.
