We're partnering with a well-established manufacturer that has built its reputation on producing highly engineered, safety-critical forged products for demanding industries. Their components are trusted in applications where performance, reliability, and quality matter every day. As they continue to invest in their operations, they're looking to add a Quality/Materials Engineer II to their team.
What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you'll be the bridge between metallurgy, quality, and manufacturing. You'll help ensure products meet the highest standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
Key responsibilities include:
- Investigating quality concerns and leading root cause analysis efforts
- Developing corrective and preventive actions that deliver long-term results
- Using metallurgical expertise to improve products and processes
- Partnering with heat treat operations and steel suppliers to maintain quality standards
- Performing statistical analysis and process capability studies
- Supporting continuous improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Developing and maintaining quality documentation, procedures, and control plans
- Supporting new product introductions and production readiness activities
- Working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, suppliers, and leadership teams
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field
- 3 years of experience in quality, materials, manufacturing, or metallurgical engineering
- Experience conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions
- Knowledge of statistical tools such as Minitab, JMP, or similar software
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a hands-on manufacturing environment
Bonus Points For
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, forging, metals, or other highly regulated industries
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or related quality systems
- Experience working with heat treatment processes and material specifications
- ERP or PLM system experience
