Job Description: Quality Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans for CNC-machined thermal products. This role involves reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure accurate quality planning and leading root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for internal and customer quality issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans for CNC-machined thermal products.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure accurate quality planning.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for internal and customer quality issues.
• Support first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections.
• Collaborate closely with CNC machinists, programmers, and supervisors to resolve quality concerns and improve processes.
• Analyze quality data and trends, and recommend process improvements.
• Manage nonconforming material reports and coordinate disposition activities.
• Assist with customer, internal, and third-party audits, including ISO 9001.
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection and measurement equipment.
• Support supplier quality activities, including supplier evaluations and corrective actions.
• Implement and maintain statistical methodologies for process improvement.
• Train production and inspection personnel on quality standards and best practices.
• Collaborate daily with internal departments, including sales, customer service, engineering, purchasing, and production.
• Lead and direct the shop-floor quality team, including training and addressing technical challenges.
• Perform other tasks and special projects as needed.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of Quality Engineering experience.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with quality tools such as PPAP, FMEA, SPC, root cause analysis, and 8D.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other applicable quality management systems.
• Proficiency with statistical software such as MiniTab or JMP.
• Experience using inspection equipment like calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• ASQ quality-related certifications such as CQE or CQA are preferred.
• Lean / Six Sigma certifications such as Green Belt or Black Belt are preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.

This is a Permanent position based out of St. Charles, IL.

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
