Job Description
The Quality Engineer will serve as a key point of contact for OEM customers, focusing on reducing scrap and implementing process improvements using the 8D methodology. This role involves collaboration with the quality team and quality lab to manage data collection, utilize software for metric tracking, and make informed decisions on quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison with OEM customers.
- Work on reducing scrap and enhancing process improvements utilizing the 8D methodology.
- Collaborate with the quality team and quality lab to ensure high standards.
- Handle data collection and apply software solutions for metric tracking.
- Make decisions on quality standards to align with company and industry requirements.
- Automotive Quality Engineering Experience
- Proficiency in 8D methodology
- Experience with OEM Customer Portals (e.g., FORD GSAR, GM SPPS, Stellantis NCT)
- Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF standards
- Experience with plant operations software
- ASQ Certification
- Leadership in a quality lab setting
- Familiarity with Plant Operations Software (e.g., Mapics, XA "Green Screen," PLEX, MiniTab)
- ASQ Certification
- Experience in quality lab leadership
This position is on-site, involving both floor and office responsibilities, within a dynamic and fast-paced automotive environment where the focus will be on improving high-volume plastic components.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cadillac, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $45.00/hr.
