Job Description
The Quality Control Lab Technician will conduct comprehensive quality control testing in the laboratory to ensure products meet established specifications. This role involves using advanced instrumentation and analytical techniques to analyze samples and contribute to the quality management team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality control testing using Gas Chromatography, Liquid Chromatography, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Infra-red Spectrophotometer, and pH analysis.
- Utilize analytical techniques such as Gas Chromatography (GC), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Spectroscopy (IR and UV) to analyze samples.
- Perform wet chemistry methods to analyze samples.
- Review, interpret, and summarize data accurately.
- Record analytical results using good documentation practices.
- Communicate effectively within the QC team and with cross-functional teams.
- Set up daily standards, daily KF calibrations, and special purpose laboratory equipment to test products.
- Plan a sequence for testing of incoming samples.
- Actively participate in the quality management team within the organization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in chemistry and laboratory techniques.
- Experience with quality assurance and quality control processes.
- Ability to perform titration, viscosity, and analysis.
- Familiarity with UV-Vis spectroscopy and raw material testing.
- Skills in in-process analysis and finished goods testing.
- Understanding of chemical manufacturing processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related hard sciences preferred.
- Entry-level candidates with strong chemistry lab work or internships encouraged to apply.
- Associates in Science with 1 year of industry chemistry experience qualifies.
- Candidates with 2-3 years of recent industry experience in a chemistry lab setting with a high school diploma also considered.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and test methods.
- Comfortable working independently.
Work Environment
The Quality Control Lab Technician will work in a QC lab within a chemical manufacturing plant. The team includes one other technician and a supervisor present in the lab at all times. The dress code consists of jeans and a plain shirt with PPE. Training period hours are Monday-Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. After training, the shift follows a 2-2-3 rotating schedule with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, Ohio.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
