Job Description
The Quality Assurance Chemist ensures that finished products meet quality specifications and oversees quality from raw materials to the finished product. This role involves maintaining the quality lab to perform necessary lab testing and collaborating directly with production, research and development, and supply chain departments.
Responsibilities
- Perform chemical and microbial testing of batches and make necessary adjustments.
- Inspect raw materials, including chemicals, packaging components, and labels.
- Assist Quality Technicians and production teams with finished product inspections.
- Calibrate and maintain lab equipment.
- Troubleshoot lab equipment issues.
- Inspect and approve FDA products for release.
- Assist in validation of lab equipment (IQ, OQ, PQ).
- Assist with product validations.
- Maintain the quality assurance lab.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related.
- 2-5 years of experience as a Quality Chemist.
- Proficiency with pH meter, viscometer, UV-Vis, GC, FTIR, and auto titrator testing.
*This role will be an on an off shift schedule*
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gurnee, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $44.00/hr.
