Quality Assurance Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Lab Technician to join our team. This full-time role requires working from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with potential for weekend shifts and overtime. As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will ensure our products meet safety and quality standards by monitoring production processes, conducting tests, and supporting compliance with food safety programs.

• Adhere to all quality and food safety policies.
• Perform pre-operational inspections and allergen checks.
• Verify product labels for accuracy.
• Conduct physical, chemical, and sensory tests; document results and address non-compliance promptly.
• Monitor metal detectors and check weighers; take corrective action as needed.
• Collect samples for microbiological and retained testing.
• Lead by example in Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Assist in managing non-conforming products to prevent shipment of substandard goods.
• Support root cause analysis and problem-solving for quality issues.
• Maintain accurate and organized records.
• Collaborate with production and R&D during new product launches.
• Perform additional tasks such as hygiene inspections, raw material checks, environmental swabs, equipment calibration, and foreign material investigations.

• Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Proficiency in chemistry, laboratory procedures, and biology.
• Experience with inspection, QC testing, and microbiology.
• Understanding of FDA regulations, wet chemistry, titration, HACCP, and viscosity.
• Experience in maintaining batch records and food safety protocols.

• High school diploma or equivalent; STEM-related Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1 year of GMP quality experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to operate lab equipment.
• Strong communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work 3rd shift.

This position operates within a laboratory environment that requires adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. The shift for this role is from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with occasional weekends and overtime. The role involves working with various technologies and equipment to ensure product quality and safety.

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
