Quality Control Technician

We're seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to help ensure raw materials and finished products meet established quality standards. This role goes beyond routine testing and involves investigating quality issues, performing analytical testing, and supporting continuous product excellence in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and approve incoming materials and finished products for quality compliance
• Perform laboratory testing, including pH, specific gravity, titrations, microbiological testing, chromatography, and other analytical methods
• Conduct sensory evaluations
• Investigate quality deviations and support root cause analysis efforts
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
• Accurately document test results and communicate findings to the quality team
• Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field preferred
• 1-3 years of quality control laboratory experience in food, beverage, ingredient, chemical, or related manufacturing environments
• Experience with chromatography (GC preferred) and analytical laboratory equipment
• Strong understanding of chemistry principles and laboratory practices
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience

• Microbiological testing experience
• Knowledge of GMPs and quality systems
• Experience with wet chemistry techniques and laboratory instrumentation
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
• Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities

Schedule & Environment

• Monday-Friday | 10:00 AM-6:30 PM
• Clean, modern laboratory setting

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Deerfield, IL.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
