QC Inspector

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to support food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance within a USDA and FDA-regulated food manufacturing facility. The QC Inspector will perform in-process inspections, monitor production activities, verify compliance with GMPs and HACCP requirements, and ensure products meet established quality and food safety standards. This individual will work closely with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Quality teams to maintain an audit-ready environment and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities Conduct routine quality inspections throughout production, packaging, and warehouse operations. Monitor compliance with USDA, FDA, GMP, HACCP, SSOP, allergen control, and food safety requirements. Verify product specifications, packaging integrity, coding, labeling, and finished product quality. Perform pre-operational inspections and document findings. Collect product samples and conduct required quality checks and testing. Review production records, quality documentation, and operational logs for accuracy and completeness. Identify, document, and communicate quality or food safety concerns to supervisors and management. Support investigations related to deviations, non-conformances, customer complaints, and food safety incidents. Assist with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and root cause investigations. Monitor sanitation and GMP compliance on the production floor. Ensure CCPs, preventive controls, and quality checks are properly performed and documented. Participate in internal audits, third-party audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections. Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation. Promote a strong food safety culture and continuous improvement mindset throughout the facility. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 1 years of quality control, quality assurance, or food manufacturing experience a plus Experience working in a USDA and/or FDA-regulated food production environment preferred. Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SQF, FSMA, and food safety regulations. Proficiency with quality documentation and recordkeeping. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bay Shore, NY.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Bay Shore,NY.
