QC Chemist

Job Description

This role involves working in the lab conducting quality control work. The QC Chemist will conduct quality control testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards. The position requires the application of analytical chemistry principles, wet lab techniques, and laboratory best practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct raw material, in-process, and finished good testing.
• Perform HPLC and GC testing.
• Maintain and troubleshoot instruments.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Analyze samples from production and final products using HPLC.
• Communicate effectively and work in a GMP environment.
• Utilize Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy, FTIR, UV-Vis, and TOC Analyzer for analysis.
• Ensure compliance with quality control procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and uphold safety standards.

Work Environment

This is a lab-based position focused on QC bench work and documentation. The QC Chemist will be one of two lab technicians performing hands-on QC analysis. The company is a small, family-owned business specializing in lotions and cream products for over-the-counter use. The lab team consists of three people: a director, two lab techs, and a QC tech person who assists with sample processing. The work hours are from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burbank, CA.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
