Responsibilities
- Test raw materials before their use in manufacturing.
- Conduct testing on incoming materials, including USDA and EP standards.
- Perform wet chemistry testing such as pH, IR, moisture, and identification tests.
- Engage in future HPLC and GC work as training progresses.
- Draft protocols and perform method verifications and validations.
- Assist with side tasks to maintain productivity during training.
Essential Skills
- Strong experience in chemistry with a focus on HPLC, GC, and GMP.
- Experience in quality control and QC testing.
- Proficient in titration, wet chemistry, method validation, and method transfer.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or related life science field.
- Undergraduate research experience or summer internship experience demonstrating initiative.
- 0-3 years of chemistry experience in a GMP environment.
- Experience in drafting protocols and performing method verifications and validations is a plus.
- HPLC and GC experience is desirable, especially troubleshooting and developing new methods.
Work Environment
You will work in a laboratory setting within a Quality Control lab, collaborating with four teams, each consisting of approximately 4-5 chemists per supervisor. Teams include Raw Materials, Finished Products, Analytical Development, Environmental Monitoring, and QC Specialists. The lab has expanded over the last two years, offering a modern workspace where chemists work in shared spaces with laptops and scientist-level individuals have their own desks. The position offers variety in daily tasks, promoting continuous learning and advancement opportunities within the company.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
