Job Description
The QA Technician I plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality standards of manufactured products and ensuring that all consumable commodities and raw materials comply with established quality requirements. This position is essential in the drug product and substance manufacturing areas to uphold procedure and material specifications.
Responsibilities
- Inspect materials, including durable consumables and raw materials, following established procedures.
- Perform sampling of incoming materials according to procedural guidelines and material specifications.
- Enter inspection results into computer systems.
- Segregate rejected materials according to quality standards.
- Conduct visual and dimensional tests on commodities used in the Drug Substance area.
- Release incoming materials into the system upon approval.
- Verify documentation generated in accordance with procedural standards.
- Assist operations by adhering to environmental management, occupational health, and safety systems while promoting continuous improvement.
- Comply with all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) procedures and policies, including incident reporting, PPE usage, waste management, and disposal programs.
Essential Skills
- 1-3 years of experience in quality assurance.
- Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proficiency in performing visual inspections.
- High school diploma or GED, with an Associate's degree considered a plus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Forklift certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP is beneficial.
- Experience with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Candidates with a science or engineering degree are not a fit for this entry-level role.
Work Environment
This role involves working in a mixed environment, including both office and warehouse settings. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with potential overtime available after training. This is an on-site position with no remote work options.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
