Job Title: QA Manager

The QA Manager is also tasked with reviewing and auditing sanitation and operational practices, implementing specifications on raw materials, conducting Quality GMP trainings, and maintaining compliance with SQF GFSI food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage a team of up to 10 non-exempt employees in the Quality department.
• Create and implement quality programs, SOPs, and guidelines for the plant.
• Test products for microbiological, physical, and chemical characteristics.
• Review and audit sanitation and operational practices and procedures.
• Implement written specifications on raw materials in process and finished goods.
• Conduct Quality GMP Trainings.
• Maintain a superior rated level of GMPs and sanitation, ensuring readiness for regulatory/customer inspections.
• Maintain compliance and certification to the SQF GFSI food safety standard.
• Review all organic and Kosher guidelines and certification processes.
• Develop and oversee experiments and plant tests.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in quality assurance and quality control.
• Expertise in microbial and microbiology testing.
• Experience in quality training and complaint handling.
• Strong knowledge of food science.
• Ability to review batch records.
• Understanding of SOP and GMP practices.
• Experience in food manufacturing.
• Knowledge of HAACP, audit, and CAPA processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Food Science or related field required.
• Minimum seven years of experience in QA.
• Minimum five years in food manufacturing.
• Minimum three years of supervisory experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
