Job Title: QA Laboratory Technician

Job Description

The responsibilities of this position require working in both the analytical laboratory and the packaging laboratory located on the factory floor.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tests and analyses using techniques such as HPLC, GC, chromatography, titration, and pH testing.
• Perform microbiological and chemical analyses in the laboratory.
• Collect samples and review paperwork on the factory floor.
• Handle quality holds and resolve any quality issues that arise during production.
• Participate in both analytical and packaging lab training for approximately 6-7 weeks.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry or a related science field (biology, natural science, etc.) including completion of lab coursework.
• Proficiency in HPLC, GC, and chromatography techniques.
• Experience with microbiology, titration, and pH testing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to work any shift as required.
• Openness to work overtime as needed.

Work Environment

This is a Quality Control lab that operates 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Candidates must be able to work any shift. Starting January 1, 2025, there will be a 2-2-3 shift and a Monday - Friday shift. 2-2-3 schedules: 6am-6pm, and 6pm-6am. Monday - Friday schedules: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, and 10pm-6am. Most new hires will start on the 6pm-6am 2-2-3 shift, or the Monday - Friday 2nd or 3rd shift. Shifts will not rotate, but if someone calls off or is sick, they may have to fill in. Shifts work off of a seniority basis. Candidates must be available to work overtime. Training will last approximately 6-7 weeks in both the analytical and packaging lab from 6am-2pm, Monday - Friday. Orientation will be Monday-Thursday from 8am-4pm. When working in the packaging lab, candidates will typically work in the pack lab 70% of the time and on the floor 30% of the time. In the analytical lab, candidates will work in the lab 90% of the time and on the manufacturing floor 10% of the time. City observed holidays include New Year's Day, MLK Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and 1 floating holiday. However, due to business demands, they may be scheduled to work on holidays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.94 - $23.94/hr.
