Clinical Rater (Psychiatric/Neurological Trials)

Position Summary

The Clinical Rater is responsible for administering standardized psychometric assessments, supporting subject eligibility evaluations, and ensuring compliance with clinical trial protocols. This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and collaboration with study teams, sponsors, and site staff to uphold data quality and participant safety across CNS clinical studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review subject medical histories, conduct prescreening interviews, and assess eligibility in collaboration with the study team.
  • Administer, score, and interpret psychometric rating scales for subjects across various CNS indications, including ADHD, Alzheimer’s Disease, Bipolar Disorder, GAD, MDD, PTSD, Substance Use Disorders, Epilepsy, Anxiety Disorders, and Schizophrenia/Schizoaffective Disorder.
  • Ensure evaluations are conducted in compliance with study protocols, FDA regulations, GCP, ICH guidelines, and privacy requirements.
  • Calculate and utilize rating scale results to determine protocol eligibility.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to any potential risk of harm to self or others, ensuring participant safety.
  • Maintain consistency and quality across all rating assessments through ongoing review and calibration.
  • Collaborate with site staff, sponsors, CROs, and business development teams to support study execution and growth initiatives.
  • Participate in meetings with Sponsors, Study Monitors, and Medical Monitors to address questions related to ratings.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant source documentation in accordance with ALCOA-C standards; address monitor and sponsor queries.
  • Complete all required study-specific training, certifications, and re-certifications.
  • Attend internal trainings, webinars, study meetings, and conferences (including presentations, when required).
  • Travel to other sites as needed to support rating activities.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of subject, sponsor, and internal information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience administering psychometric rating scales in a clinical trial setting.
  • Master's Degree required, Ph.D. preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and dependability.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
