Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Prototype Manufacturing Technician to join our advanced manufacturing team. This role bridges hands-on fabrication with early-stage process development, supporting rapid prototyping and initial builds of aircraft components. You will work closely with design engineers to create fixtures, assemble prototype parts, and provide feedback to improve manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble prototype parts and components following work instructions.
- Fabricate fixtures and tooling to support manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with design teams to identify and implement process improvements.
- Operate common hand tools and maintain a safe, organized workshop environment.
- Support development of small-scale manufacturing setups for new designs.
- Occasionally assist with automation and robotics integration for prototype builds.
Top Skills (Must-Haves)
- Strong hands-on assembly and fabrication experience.
- Proficiency with common hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers).
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments and work instruction systems (e.g., SAP, Odoo).
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, less formal prototype environment.
Secondary Skills (Nice-to-Haves)
- Welding and machining experience.
- Basic CAD and 3D printing skills.
- Electrical knowledge (multimeter use, insulation resistance, high-pot testing).
- Experience with automation or robotics in manufacturing.
Additional Qualifications
- Curious, proactive attitude with a willingness to improve processes.
- Ability to self-identify tasks and work toward project goals.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of South San Francisco, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
