Actalent is seeking a Project Scheduler to work for a Shipbuilder Company that is located

in Quebec for a long-term opportunity

Job Title: Project Scheduler

***This role requires relocation to Quebec City and is on-site***

Job Description

The Project Scheduler will work directly with the Lead Project Scheduler and will be hands-on with scheduling functions. They will

provide crucial information to the Lead Scheduler, who will then communicate this information up the chain. This is an exciting opportunity to support

shipbuilding and the Canadian navy, working on either the frigates program or the new build program, forming a team with the Lead Scheduler.

Responsibilities

• Support the lead scheduler with all interfaces and deliverables related to schedule and progress.
• Create, monitor, and analyze project schedules according to approved project baselines.
• Deliver progress and performance reports as required by the project or contract.
• Provide analytical support for contingency, progress, trend reporting, and mitigation of delays.
• Develop program and project schedules, including work breakdown structures, key project milestones, and project reporting baselines.
• Adhere to corporate scheduling processes and procedures.
• Analyze schedule issues related to change management and identify potential claims.
• Support the development of the master schedule using Primavera P6.
• Create detailed Work Breakdown Structures.
• Coordinate with multiple stakeholders, receive status reports, and update schedules.
• Facilitate meetings with stakeholders and follow-up on action items.
• Manage project schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
• Review incoming change orders and evaluate their effect on the schedule.
• Provide oversight to sub-contractors’ schedules and work completed.
• Review planned versus actual budget variance due to scheduling changes and report to client.
• Escalate scheduling or deadline concerns to the client.
• Document meeting minutes with detailed status reports, action items, and timelines.
• Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and deliverables, and address stakeholder feedback and concerns promptly.

Essential Skills

• Experience in schedule planning and project scheduling.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6.
• High level of communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree (field is flexible).
• 4 years of relevant experience in construction, shipyards, shipbuilding, or oil & gas industries, including managing multiple different trades.

Work Environment

• This role requires relocation to Quebec City and is on-site.
• The work environment will involve collaboration with multiple stakeholders and forming a team with the Lead Scheduler.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
