Job Description
The Project Manager is responsible for leading construction projects from post-award handoff through closeout. This role ensures safety, quality, schedule performance, financial success, and strong client relationships. The Project Manager works closely with Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, and senior leadership to deliver projects efficiently and profitably.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all assigned projects follow company safety procedures and maintain a culture of proactive risk prevention.
- Oversee project-specific safety planning and ensure proper PPE usage.
- Coordinate utility mark-outs and lead toolbox talks.
- Conduct Job Hazard Analyses and participate in accident and incident investigations.
- Manage the project lifecycle from estimating handoff through final closeout.
- Fully understand and manage project contracts.
- Establish and maintain project schedules to meet or exceed client expectations.
- Collaborate with Superintendents on manpower, equipment, material deliveries, and subcontractor coordination.
- Write subcontractor scopes of work and review with senior staff before issuance.
- Ensure timely submittals, procurement, and distribution of approved shop drawings.
- Support creation of project, weekly, and daily schedules and drive the project team to meet critical milestones.
- Assist with estimating and pricing changes after project award.
- Maintain professional communication with clients and authorities.
- Pre-plan activities with field leadership to beat labor budgets and ensure work quality.
- Review project costs weekly with the team and senior staff.
- Identify risks and implement corrective strategies.
- Monitor labor performance and adjust as needed.
- Ensure proper equipment utilization and manage rental equipment requirements.
- Prepare, negotiate, and manage proposals for additional work.
- Process and track Change Orders.
- Manage subcontractor performance, communication, and compliance.
- Schedule subcontractors in advance and maintain consistent communication.
- Enforce subcontract terms and conditions and process subcontractor billing promptly.
- Ensure projects remain cash-positive and financially healthy.
- Develop the Schedule of Values (SOV) to maximize cash flow.
- Participate in monthly cost reviews and discuss performance trends.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction project management.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from inception to completion.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficient in construction management software and tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with project management, submittals, estimation, and change order management.
- Proficiency in construction project coordination and civil construction.
- Understanding of utilities, procurement, and construction billing.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.00 - $58.00/hr.
