We are seeking an Environmental Engineer or Environmental Geologist to join our Los Angeles office. This individual will serve as a Project Manager responsible for overseeing environmental compliance and permitting projects, managing client relationships, coordinating technical staff, and ensuring successful project execution from proposal through completion. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in hazardous waste management, water compliance, environmental regulations, and project management. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned environmental professional looking to take ownership of projects and work directly with clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Responsibilities- Manage environmental projects related to regulatory compliance, hazardous waste, water quality, permitting, and environmental reporting.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout project lifecycles.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and overall project performance.
- Prepare and review technical reports, permit applications, compliance documentation, and regulatory submissions.
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
- Manage subcontractors and outside consultants to ensure project objectives are met.
- Conduct client meetings and develop long-term business relationships.
- Support proposal development, scope preparation, and project planning efforts.
- Ensure projects are completed in accordance with applicable environmental regulations and company quality standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 10 years of environmental consulting or industry experience.
- Demonstrated project management experience overseeing multiple environmental projects simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and regulatory compliance programs.
- Experience with hazardous waste management and compliance, water quality compliance and permitting, environmental reporting and regulatory documentation, and environmental permitting processes.
- Proven ability to manage clients, staff, and subcontractors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or Professional Geologist (PG) license.
- Experience managing projects throughout California.
- Existing relationships with regulatory agencies and industry clients.
- Experience supporting business development and client growth initiatives.
The position is based on-site in Downtown Los Angeles, with a schedule that includes 2 days in the field and 3 days in the office. The role offers the opportunity to work on some of the largest projects in the US, such as LAX, LA Metro, Port of LA/LB, Hawaii Tunnel, and Washington Transit, within a growing team of 25 employees and a healthy project backlog extending through 2028.
