Job Description

The Project Estimator is a crucial role responsible for generating a bill of materials based on project plans and serving as the single point of contact for all project quotations. This position requires daily collaboration with field sales representatives and occasional interaction with external customers. Communication is primarily conducted over the phone, via email, or through Salesforce. The Estimator will work to determine the necessary materials and supplies, facilitate new project quotations, prepare quotation revisions, assist in the pricing approval process, manage contacts, and distribute submittal packages upon request. Additionally, the Estimator will collaborate with other departments as necessary and perform various administrative duties.

Responsibilities

• Review and assist with project layouts and plans, applying knowledge of ADS products.
• Work closely with the sales team to determine the appropriate materials and supplies for projects.
• Build rapport with field sales representatives and provide Salesforce support.
• Develop an understanding of individual territory dynamics, including customer relationships, pricing, and competition.
• Review a Bill of Materials to extract necessary products for a finished quote.
• Produce and deliver all quotes for the assigned sales territory and prepare new projects/quotes within Salesforce.
• Modify existing quotes with varying quantities, products, and customers as needed.
• Ensure product numbers on Salesforce quotes match requests from sales representatives or customers.
• Edit pricing on Salesforce project quotes to align with the requested quoting strategy.
• Collaborate with other departments to obtain products and pricing for quote generation.
• Manage and update the Salesforce contact list for the sales representative.
• Review existing quotations in Salesforce to verify pricing validity and update as necessary in collaboration with market analysts and outside sales representatives.
• Maintain confidentiality of all trade secrets and company/customer information.
• Assist in the development of new team members.
• Adhere to company procedures, policies, and guiding principles of honesty, professionalism, and core values.

Essential Skills

• Experience in estimation, quoting, and material management.
• Proficiency in CRM software, specifically Salesforce.
• Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Strong organization and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Skills & Qualifications

• Prior quoting or estimating experience is required; civil or related experience is a plus.
• Degree or equivalent experience in civil CAD design is a plus.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil CAD, and blueprint reading.
• Experience in construction estimating is advantageous.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position where all necessary equipment is provided. The role is fast-paced, requiring the completion of 20-60 quotes per day. Work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM Eastern Time or 7 AM to 4 PM Central Time.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hilliard, OH.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr.
