Job Description
As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing and executing projects with precision and expertise. You will be responsible for ensuring project feasibility, adhering to safety standards, and collaborating with various teams to meet project milestones. Your skills in project management and technical drawing will be essential in driving successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Investigate project feasibility, scope, schedule, and budget.
- Create scope of work, bid package, and project specifications.
- Review technical drawings, provide feedback, and negotiate changes.
- Evaluate safety compliance to local and national codes.
- Collaborate with third-party Safety Compliance Contractors.
- Collaborate with multiple groups to design and install equipment and meet project milestones.
- Supervise contractors in a green-field or brown-field work environment.
- Coordinate installation with skilled trades, affiliate companies, engineers, and equipment manufacturers.
- Develop countermeasures for project delays to ensure timely project completion.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or other relevant disciplines), Technical Trader Certification, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3 years of project management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Proficiency in reviewing and modifying drawings in AutoCAD.
- Experience in bid specification development and contractor negotiation.
- 2 years of experience in technical drawing review.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- OSHA 10/30 certification.
- Experience in automotive paint processes.
- Experience with trades such as sheet metal.
- Familiarity with utility cost calculation.
- Experience working in controlled environments (paint booths, clean manufacturing spaces).
- Familiarity with airflow systems and environmental controls.
Work Environment
This position is focused on modifications and construction activities within paint booths, including structural and airflow improvements. You will work with sheet metal structures and large components inside the booth environment. The role requires a strong engineering background combined with practical trade experience and project management skills, preferably managing projects valued at $500K or more. The position is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, with approximately 20% overtime required (weekends and shutdown support as needed). Travel is up to 10%, both domestic and international.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Blue Springs, MS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
