Project Engineer

The primary goal of this position is to implement necessary administrative activities required for the efficient execution of a contract and ensure that on-site administrative procedures align with company-wide practices.

• Maintain accurate records of all contract changes and internal adjustments, including executed work orders and back charges.
• Process requests for changes to the contract under the direction of the Project Manager in accordance with company procedures.
• Create purchase orders consistent with subcontractor bids, contract documents, industry practices, and company policies, with assistance from the Director of Contract Administration.
• Maintain a current CPM schedule at the construction site as directed by the Project Manager.
• Ensure orderly documentation of all activities including submittals, requests for information, contract changes, and material and equipment logs, verifying accuracy weekly.
• Prepare all internal and external reports as required by company management and contract documents.
• Supervise the Project Clerk and perform clerk duties when a clerk is not assigned.
• Notify subcontractors of work schedules as directed by the Superintendent.
• Schedule equipment and materials in coordination with the Project Superintendent.
• Expedite and verify the delivery of critical items, including submittals, materials, and costs.
• Maintain record documents and process all closeout information.
• Monitor and complete compliance items and generate administration reports.

• Experience in construction, construction management, project engineering, and project management.
• Proficiency in change order and contract management.
• Experience with public projects, particularly large-scale projects like schools and hospitals.
• Skills in project coordination, estimation, and civil engineering.
• Compliance knowledge and OSHA 10 certification.
• Basic understanding of the construction industry and technical terminology.
• Ability to understand construction sequences and fundamental business activities and procedures.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

• Familiarity with management and leadership development, including business writing, speed reading, and effective communication.
• Technical development skills in software such as Prolog, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Cal OSHA 10-hour training is advantageous.

The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 3 pm. Projects are located within an hour's drive north or south, ensuring minimal travel time. The company fosters a family-oriented culture and heavily invests in training and development. There are no remote work options available.

This is a Permanent position based out of Fresno, CA.

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
