Procurement Analyst

[Job Description]

A large reputable utility company in Bothell, WA is currently hiring for a Procurement Analyst (Procurement Intake Request Facilitator). This temporary role supports the Procurement COE (Center of Excellence) by mapping and segmenting the supply base and delivering category market intelligence that strengthens sourcing decisions, supplier engagement, and contract modernization. The position is expected to spend approximately 50% of time serving as the Procurement Intake Request Facilitator and 50% supporting Supplier Development, Supplier Intelligence, and Center of Excellence (COE) / Supplier Engagement Initiatives. The role includes coordinating procurement purchase request intake, reviewing vendor proposals and business requirement documents (BRDs), and partnering with several approver groups to route requests efficiently, improve alignment, and support timely decisions. This role is responsible for helping ensure requests are accurately submitted and routed to the appropriate review teams, including information security, cyber security, compliance, gas lines, and safety, based on the nature of the request, supplier status, and risk profile.

Pay - $35/hr. - $42/hr.

Location - Bothell, WA (Hybrid Schedule)

Contract Duration - 6-Month Contract To Start (Possibility for Extension or Conversion)

[Responsibilities]

• Coordinate procurement purchase request intake activities by reviewing submissions, including vendor proposals and business requirement documents (BRDs), performing quality checks, tracking approvals, and routing requests to the appropriate approver groups.
• Partner with internal stakeholders across operations, finance, business teams, and approver groups to improve process consistency, communication, and sourcing outcomes.
• Segment and profile suppliers across key categories, including identifying leaders, challengers, and emerging suppliers.
• Develop category workbooks that synthesize market overviews, supplier landscape and benchmarking insights, risk considerations, capacity, and innovation opportunities.
• Support supplier engagement and development activities, including communications, enablement materials, and outreach.
• Deliver basic supplier invoicing training and guidance to improve invoice quality and cycle time.
• Track market trends, emerging technologies, and supplier capabilities to inform sourcing and category strategies.
• Maintain Approved Bidder Lists (ABLs) and support supplier shortlisting for RFP and RFQ events.
• Create category technology roadmaps and highlight innovation opportunities across relevant supply markets.
• Support contract and performance enablement through SLA inputs, market standards, and metrics and governance support.

[Qualification Requirements]

• 3 years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, supplier management, market research, and/or analytics.
• Strong research, synthesis, and storytelling skills, with the ability to turn data into decisions.
• Ability to build structured deliverables such as category workbooks, supplier profiles, and dashboards.
• Comfort with supplier segmentation, benchmarking, and market and technology scanning.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners.

• Experience supporting RFP and RFQ processes, contract or SLA development, technology or services categories, and COE or shared services environments.
• PMP or other relevant Project Management Certification.
• SAP/Ariba.
• Comfortable submitting to a drug test (including THC) upon onboarding.

This is a Contract position based out of Bothell, WA.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
