Job Description

We are seeking a Process Weld Engineer to develop, implement, and optimize welding processes that ensure product quality, safety, and manufacturing efficiency. This role supports production operations, drives continuous improvement initiatives, troubleshoots welding-related issues, and leads the implementation of new welding technologies and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize welding processes, procedures, and process parameters for new and existing products.
• Support quoting activities through weld process development, equipment selection, and cost estimation.
• Specify, implement, and maintain welding equipment, tooling, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
• Troubleshoot welding, process, and quality issues using root cause analysis tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve product manufacturability and weld performance.
• Develop welding standards, work instructions, and training programs to support operational consistency.
• Evaluate and implement new welding technologies, automation, and process improvements.
• Support capital equipment projects, including justification, installation, and validation.
• Monitor process performance, investigate defects, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable welding codes, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and hands-on support to production teams.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in welding techniques such as resistance welding, MIG, TIG, and other welding processes.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and blueprint reading.
• Experience with process improvement and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with machining, robotics, and fabrication.
• Knowledge of metallurgy and production processes.
• Experience in project engineering and using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with developing and implementing welding standards and training programs.
• Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives and support capital equipment projects.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone.

Work Environment

The role is onsite, requiring hands-on engagement with production teams and equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Toledo, OH.

The pay range for this position is $81.00 - $106.25/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Toledo,OH.
