Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and sustain photolithography processes including resist coating, exposure, post-exposure bake, and development.
- Characterize and control critical process parameters such as critical dimension (CD), overlay, and defectivity to ensure stable and repeatable performance.
- Collaborate with equipment vendors and internal engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to maintain and improve tool performance, including steppers and track systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations, excursions, and yield issues, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Support new product introduction and technology transfers by developing, qualifying, and documenting robust process recipes and procedures.
- Utilize statistical process control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to monitor processes, optimize performance, and drive continuous improvement.
- Analyze process and metrology data using tools such as Minitab and JMP to identify trends, correlations, and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate on mask design and process integration activities to ensure manufacturability and alignment with device performance requirements.
- Maintain strict adherence to cleanroom protocols and ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Train technicians and operators on photolithography procedures, best practices, and troubleshooting methods to ensure consistent execution on the production floor.
- Document process changes, experiments, and results clearly and accurately to support knowledge sharing and audit readiness.
- 2 years of experience in semiconductor photolithography or closely related process engineering roles.
- Hands-on experience with photolithography equipment such as Ultratech steppers and SVG coat and develop tracks.
- Strong understanding of photoresist chemistry, including resist coating, exposure, post-exposure bake, and development processes.
- Proficiency in semiconductor process engineering with a focus on photolithography and process integration.
- Ability to characterize and control critical process parameters such as CD, overlay, and defectivity.
- Experience applying statistical process control (SPC) to monitor and control manufacturing processes.
- Working knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE) for process optimization and troubleshooting.
- Experience using data analysis tools such as Minitab and JMP to analyze process and yield data.
- Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing flows and cleanroom operations.
- Hands-on experience with UltraTech stepper aligners or similar lithography tools.
- Ability to conduct structured root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process deviations and yield excursions.
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for tracking lots, recipes, and process history.
- Background in semiconductor manufacturing, particularly in lithography or related front-end processes.
- Experience with process development and process improvement initiatives in a high-volume manufacturing or R&D environment.
- Exposure to mask design considerations and their impact on lithography process windows and device performance.
- Knowledge of defect analysis techniques and methods for reducing defectivity in photolithography processes.
- Experience using FMEA or similar risk assessment methodologies to enhance process robustness.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and train technicians and operators.
- Detail-oriented approach with strong documentation skills for recipes, procedures, and experimental results.
The role operates primarily in a semiconductor cleanroom environment, working directly with photolithography equipment such as Ultratech steppers, UltraTech stepper aligners, and SVG coat and develop tracks. You will use MES systems, SPC tools, and data analysis software such as Minitab and JMP as part of daily work. The position involves close collaboration with engineering, production, and equipment vendor teams in a highly technical, process-driven setting that emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to cleanroom protocols. The work environment supports continuous improvement, structured problem solving, and knowledge sharing to enhance process stability and manufacturing performance.
