Job Summary: The Mechanical Product Development Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and systems for medical diagnostic equipment. This role requires expertise in SolidWorks and a strong understanding of product development processes to support our R&D initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and clinical experts, to ensure product designs meet all requirements.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new product concepts.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Perform tolerance analysis and ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Prototype and test mechanical components to validate design concepts.
- Support the transition of products from R&D to manufacturing, ensuring design for manufacturability (DFM) principles are applied.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues during the development and production phases.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and medical device regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design and product development, preferably in the medical device industry.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and other CAD software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical components.
- Knowledge of medical device regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
