The Process Chemist will work independently and with a small team of talented chemists, chemical and mechanical engineers, and technicians to transform breakthrough designs from ideas to production hardware. This is a hands-on position where you will engage in chemical synthesis, data analysis, and develop new procedures. Responsibilities

• Develop and support processes from bench to pilot scale independently and collaboratively.
• Manage and analyze data sets effectively.
• Follow and help develop standard operating procedures for chemical syntheses and manipulations.
• Perform process equipment assembly, cleaning, and maintenance.
• Maintain laboratory and production area cleanliness and organization diligently.
• Understand and strictly adhere to safety programs related to hazardous chemicals.
• Document work clearly, report task progress, and communicate results efficiently.
• Manage time and organization efficiently.
• Engage in exploratory procedures, working with condensers, crystallizers, batch reactors, distillation columns, and more.

Essential Skills

• BS degree in Chemistry with 3-5 years of relevant work experience, or M.S. in Chemistry with 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
• Hands-on experience in a research laboratory or chemical production facility.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency and ability to pass a background check.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with titration, distillation, wet chemistry, sample preparation, and working with laboratory equipment such as condensers, crystallizers, and batch reactors.
• Organized, good with documentation and explaining work, flexible to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Collaborative, strong communication skills, and ability to take instructions.
• Comfortable working with hazardous materials and maintaining safety standards.
• Confidence in work and willingness to learn from more experienced chemists.

Work Environment

The Process Chemist will work in a new workspace located in Boulder, CO. The company is currently growing and has 21 employees, including 5 chemists. The work environment is characterized by an agile atmosphere with opportunities for growth, allowing employees to work under experienced chemists and potentially take leads on projects in the future. The company uses state-of-the-art continuous flow chemistry equipment and process intensification techniques to produce high-value specialty chemicals for industrial and defense markets.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Broomfield, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
