Job Description
We are seeking a licensed Principal Architect to join a woman-owned architecture firm in Seattle and take on a key leadership role with a direct path to ownership. This position involves leading projects from schematic design to construction documents, overseeing quality, and mentoring staff. The role is client-facing, with some exposure to business development. The firm is known for its mission-driven project work focusing on housing, senior living, and community-focused projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects from schematic design through to construction documents.
- Oversee quality assurance and quality control, ensuring technical oversight.
- Mentor and supervise staff in design and detailing across all project phases.
- Engage in client-facing activities with some exposure to business development.
- Pursue new clients and business opportunities.
Essential Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Revit.
- Strong knowledge of building codes and ADA compliance.
- Experience in quality control and technical oversight.
- Proficiency in schematic design, design development, and construction administration.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with design software such as InDesign.
- Experience in leading a small team and contributing to a collaborative work environment.
Work Environment
The firm is a 6-person team renowned for its collaborative and creative atmosphere, with a strong track record of quality design execution. The office is located a short walk from public transportation. Staff are expected to work 40 hours per week, with the work schedule typically running from 9 AM to 5:30 or 6 PM. Staff are required to be in the office three times a week. As a partner, working at least 45 hours per week is expected. The firm has achieved the highest levels of sustainability certification in Washington State and is a leader in senior living and special needs housing design.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
They pay for Regence Silver Plan Health Insurance for the employee 2 weeks vacation 2 weeks sick pay 401 with contributions.
