Job Title: Preconstruction Engineer
Job Description
Be the face of the company during the Bidding, Proposal, and Pre-Construction/Design phase of projects. This role requires a thorough understanding of project documents and the ability to ensure cost items are covered in estimates.
Responsibilities
- Review and understand all documents (drawings, specifications, etc.) required for pricing to ensure comprehensive coverage in estimates.
- Clarify any ambiguities with customers or indicate intended inclusions clearly.
- Conduct final reviews of all estimates and proposals with estimating and marketing teams.
- Coordinate with the Engineering Manager for Sales Package Plan drawing creation within Bid Proposals.
- Work with VP of Integrated Manufacturing, Sales, and Operations leads for bid prioritization, schedule creation, and alignment.
- Lead meetings and calls with clients or company teams to communicate project progress, needs, and address questions.
- Provide clear direction during project kick-off meetings to ensure success.
- Stay involved with projects until the Operations Project Manager confirms readiness to take over the project lead role.
- Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Train and evaluate Pre-Construction/Estimating team members, ensuring they produce accurate and high-level estimates and proposals.
- Seek better solutions for customers, aiming for a competitive advantage by offering unique pricing strategies.
- Gather internal feedback on projects to improve future proposals.
- Ensure quality proposals that demonstrate understanding and expertise in the scope of work.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
