Description
In this position the Fiber Optic Line Construction Coordinator will be working with crews within Distribution performing fiber make ready and fiber installation across GPC's service territory. Responsibilities for this opportunity will include but not limited to the following: Develops relationships with contract crew foremen and managers to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Develops relationships with local GPC representatives who may not be familiar with fiber optic construction or materials.
Observes underground installation and can make sound business decisions regarding authorizing hourly vs. unit-based invoicing.
Personally verifies progress and quality of construction, reporting back to GPC Corporate representatives.
Assist in developing work load forecasts and crew location assignments to ensure efficiency and productivity.
Monitor material usage and staging to ensure it is available in the correct places, in adequate quantities, in time to not hinder productivity.
Produce and edit various spreadsheets and electronic reports to monitor and forecast project progress.
Able to travel 90-plus % of the work week and work remotely using GPC-provided laptop and connectivity.
Overnight travel will likely be quite regular, depending on where the candidate lives.
Able to report to GPC Corporate Headquarters at regularly scheduled intervals to report and consult
No Medical Monitoring needed or specialized PPE needed. No certs of licenses needed.

Desire is to have someone with working Field operations construction setting related to Fiber optics or Utility Distribution. The majority of this role will focus primarily in the area of distribution fiber placement and client first would prefer to see someone with GPC experience, secondary experience would be general utility from indirect support within the footprint with a Telecommunications experience and nice to have would be power utilities.
