Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team in a Patient Service Center (PSC) setting. The role involves drawing patients' blood and performing specimen processing, ensuring accurate collection and receipt of biological specimens into the department. You will be responsible for the proper entry of specimens into the computer system, preparation for analytical testing, and distribution to the appropriate analytical areas. The role includes both pre- and post-analytical testing responsibilities, and may involve performing specified analytical tests as assigned. Adherence to the Code of Conduct is essential.
Responsibilities
- Draw patients' blood and perform specimen processing.
- Collect and receive biological specimens into the department.
- Ensure proper entry of specimens into the computer system.
- Prepare samples for analytical testing.
- Distribute specimens to the appropriate analytical areas.
- Perform specified analytical testing as assigned.
- Follow guidelines of the Code of Conduct.
Essential Skills
- Prior phlebotomy experience required (6 months)
- Blood draw and specimen processing.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures.
- Patient care skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- GED or High School Diploma required.
- Strong personality and integrity.
- Potential for role to become permanent after temporary leave coverage.
Work Environment
Work in a PSC alongside multiple phlebotomists, drawing outpatients. The position is based in San Tan Valley, AZ, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.36/hr.
