Phlebotomist III – Float Position

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist III to join our laboratory team in Las Cruces, NM. This position requires floating between two locations, ensuring high-quality specimen collection and processing while maintaining compliance with regulations and patient care standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture, specimen collection (blood, urine, fecal), labeling, and centrifuging.
- Explain collection procedures to patients in a professional and courteous manner.
- Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles.
- Ensure accurate matching of requisition forms with specimen tubes.
- Label, split, freeze, and package specimens for transport according to test requirements.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations.
- Answer patient inquiries and provide basic laboratory results.
- Record maintenance data, perform decontamination, and update patient records.
- Assist with workflow improvements and training initiatives.
Qualifications:
✔ Minimum 3 years of experience in phlebotomy.
✔ Valid Phlebotomy certification preferred but not required.
✔ Previous experience in a clinic or hospital setting (not donor centers).
✔ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
✔ High School Diploma or GED required.
✔ Reliable transportation is a must for travel between locations.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
