The position supports a variety of therapeutic areas, including cardiology, obesity, neurology, and other related conditions, and requires onsite presence with short local travel between nearby clinics.

Responsibilities

  • Review patient medical records and charts in both English and Spanish to identify potential candidates for current clinical trials based on inclusion and exclusion criteria.
  • Conduct high-volume outreach, making up to approximately 100 calls per day to potential participants to pre-screen interest and eligibility for clinical studies.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients in both English and Spanish to explain study opportunities and answer basic questions about participation.
  • Collaborate with clinical research and study teams to align recruitment efforts with current trial needs and enrollment targets.
  • Use electronic systems and tools to perform accurate data entry related to patient outreach, chart review findings, and recruitment status.
  • Engage with social media and other advertising channels to support recruitment campaigns and increase awareness of available clinical trials.
  • Travel between local clinic sites, spending up to several hours at each location to conduct chart reviews and recruitment activities, with mileage reimbursed when traveling between sites.
  • Support clinical research operations across multiple therapeutic areas, including cardiology, obesity, neurology, and other related conditions, adapting outreach strategies as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle patient information in a professional and compliant manner while reviewing records and conducting outreach.
  • Work closely with onsite teams to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified candidates into the formal clinical screening and enrollment process.

Essential Skills

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, with strong medical terminology knowledge in both languages.
  • Experience with clinical research, clinical studies, or clinical trials, particularly in participant recruitment.
  • Ability to review and interpret patient charts and medical records accurately.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology to assess eligibility based on inclusion and exclusion criteria.
  • Comfort with high-volume outreach, including making up to approximately 100 calls per day.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Willingness and ability to travel between local sites within approximately 20 minutes of each other.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in clinical research recruitment or patient recruitment is preferred.
  • Experience working with patient charts, medical records, and clinical documentation.
  • Experience in areas such as cardiology, obesity, neurology, or other related therapeutic areas is beneficial.
  • Medical Assistant (MA) experience or education is welcomed and will be considered.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital advertising to support recruitment campaigns.
  • Ability to manage time effectively while working across multiple sites and balancing chart review with outreach activities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to track large volumes of outreach and candidate status.

Work Environment

This is an onsite role based at a clinical research facility with regular travel to nearby local sites, all within roughly a 20-minute drive. The workday is spent in a clinical and office setting, dividing time between reviewing charts on computers or within medical record systems and conducting phone outreach from an office environment. The position involves moving between exam areas, records rooms, and workstations at different clinics, with mileage reimbursement provided when traveling between locations. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, with a focus on supporting multiple clinical trials in cardiology, obesity, neurology, and other therapeutic areas.
