Patient Care Coordinator
Job Description
As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in improving patient flow and enhancing the patient experience. You will be responsible for handling patient inquiries, managing prescriptions, and coordinating tests and referrals, ensuring that each patient receives comprehensive and timely care.
Responsibilities
- Respond to questions from patients via phone about treatment, symptoms, prescriptions, or any additional inquiries.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Set up tests requested by physicians, obtain required pre-authorizations, and relay results to patients, including imaging and lab work.
- Send and refill prescriptions through written, faxed, or electronic methods.
- Schedule outgoing referrals and send chart information as needed.
- Request medical records from other physician offices and scan into Electronic Health Records.
- Complete patient paperwork, such as worker’s compensation and FMLA, and document work in the Electronic Health Records system.
Essential Skills
- Experience as a medical office assistant or medical assistant
- Proficiency in electronic health records and appointment scheduling.
- Strong patient care and patient education skills.
- Experience handling inbound and outbound calls.
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Strong computer skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
