Job Title: Pathology Assistant

The Pathology Assistant is responsible for performing dissection, evisceration, description autopsy, and histologic sampling of a full range of anatomical specimens. This role involves conducting frozen sections and other intra-operative consultations within established protocols and procedural parameters. The assistant will coordinate the acquisition of tissue specimens for research purposes, maintain digital files with high standards of specimen photography, and participate in specimen storage and maintenance of reagents and equipment. Additionally, the assistant may review, interpret, and present findings, while also handling miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform dissection, evisceration, description autopsy, and histologic sampling of anatomical specimens.
• Conduct frozen sections and other intra-operative consultations within established protocols.
• Coordinate the acquisition of tissue specimens for research purposes.
• Maintain digital files with high standards of specimen photography.
• Participate in specimen storage and maintenance of reagents and equipment.
• Review, interpret, and present findings as required.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

• 2 years of experience in a related field
• Ability to complete Healthstream modules at home
• Orientation directly in the Pathology unit

The position requires working day shifts, specifically three 12-hour shifts from 08:00 to 16:30. The role is based in a pathology unit, where the candidate will be expected to work with various technologies and equipment related to pathology and histology processes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Annapolis, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $59.00 - $62.00/hr.
